Each of the eight major parts of the compass sections (N, NW, W, SW, S, SE, E, NE) has one of the five elements associated with it:

Water, Wood, Fire, Earth or Metal. Each compass section also has a life associated with it: Wealth, Fame, Relationship, Children, Helpful People, Career, Knowledge and Family. In addition, each section has a color associated with it as well.

All these factors get integrated into the final design to harmonize each individual's well being.
